* *Skiing in New York * *

This winter I went skiing with my family in New York at Happy Valley, and man was it freezing! I think the warmest it got was 20 degrees. The whole time we were skiing snow was slowly drifting down, it was so pretty. Although, on the ski lift when they are making snow it blows right in your face to the point where you wonder if your face is still even there.

At first when I got back into skiing my first hill was definitely the most challenging. When we were supposed to go down a green (easy) run to start off with, my mom took a wrong turn and we ended up going down a harder one. I was so nervous because I didn’t want to fall since getting back up on a mountain is hard. My calves were tensed up so tight but I made it down perfectly. To bad the tensing turned into pain for the next 3 days. But oh well it was worth it.

Traditions??

In my family we go skiing for Christmas, This year on Christmas I spent 7 hours in the car driving to New York. Not the most fun thing to do. When most people were opening presents and spending time around a fire with family (you know the perfect family scenes you see on TV) I was in the car eating gas station food because no one was open on Christmas. As I was in the car I just stared out the window and saw families together in their Christmas sweaters and only dreamed of having that. I want a stereotypical Christmas. I want the food, family, tradition. The celebration of Jesus Christ being born and not just focusing on the materialistic aspects. I want tradition. All I want for Christmas next year is that kind of Christmas. I only have 2 years left before college to spend vacations with my family and I just want a story book ending. Skiing is fun but I still just want that tradition and I want the magical element of it all put back in. You see little kids eyes light up when you talk about Christmas. They get snuggled in bed and all ready so Santa will come, but now for all the years I’ve known he isn’t real the magic has slowly been dying out of this holiday for me. I just want that back.

Good deeds never tasted so good

This weekend my small group at church and I baked cookies to take to the elderly who were shut in at their homes since they are getting older and can’t leave the house. We started baking cookies at 11p.m. and were up till 2 a.m. decorating them!

I think we went a little overboard with the decorating….

And those were only some of the plates of cookies. By the end of the night we have 14 plates of cookies that we took with us to give to the people.

Putting sprinkles on my gingerbread man shaped cookie :)

When we delivered all the cookie plates that we made to the elderly people that were in their shut-ins their faces immediately brightened up and it made my day. Nothing makes you feel better than doing a good dead for someone else.

Deuteronomy 15:10
Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

This verse fits perfectly because it truly shows that if you give you will be blessed and I am blessed because my Lord gives to me. Because He gives to me I will give to others, and will continue to do so. The feeling of making someone happy is priceless.

Tis the season to give! So give generously and with an open heart. Don’t take more than you give and always find ways to show God’s love to others.

Skype Wars!

So two days ago I started using Skype and now I am totally addicted. I mean why text someone now when you can just get on the computer and talk to them and see their face? Technology these days...next thing I know I will be standing in someone's house as a hologram and it will be like we are actually there.

Emily and Amy think its cool to stare right in front of the camera so I can see their eyes really close to the screen. But they aren't cool :)

Pickles?

My best friend laughing. Of course. I never see her not laughing
Taylor has the sweetest special effects. This bear thing follows everything she does.

So, anyone that has been on Facebook lately  has seen the game SNAKE. I swear it is the most addicting game ever. My high score right now is 270 points but the stupid snake always runs into walls! So at first Amy hated the game snake, and I got Taylor addicted to it as payback for getting me addicted to Blockade, but now Amy you know you love it. You are just always trying to beat everyones high scores but its hard when the people who have no lives score like over a 1000 and you can never top 300. So, in conclusion play snake, and you won't regret it.

Got Balls?

tennis continued...

THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, STATE TOURNAMENT

Of course, I didn't play in the State tournament, but my amazing friend Marianne did make it. After her long and epic district qualifying matches everyone knew she deserved getting there more than anyone else.
After visiting OSU it also made me think about wanting to go to college there. They have an amazing campus.

Song of the season
*All I do is Win*
This season was a rebuilding season and it is a season I will never forget. I love all of my girls who I have bonded with like sisters. I can't wait for next season. When all I will do is win.

I'm sorry I can't, I have tennis...

"Can you come and hang out with me tonight?"
..."Umm no, I have tennis tonight.
Basically from April to October my life is all about tennis, it is when I am most driven to succeed. The sport makes me feel alive and its a feeling that is indescribable. When I get out on that court I get so nervous because I never know how good my opponent is going to be.  But, when I see my coach, all my fears go away because I know she believes in me, which makes me believe more in myself, that I am able to accomplish anything that is set in front of me.
The best part of the season is hanging with all of my girls and getting to play some of my toughest competition. (Usually Centerville, Beavercreek, and Fairmont)

During practice me and the girls always joke around with each other. I remember my favorite joke anyone ever said during practice
"Woah look it's a short bus, I've never seen one of those before!"-Aerielle
"Um, Well Aerielle you can't see it from the inside"- Syron
We make jokes about everyone all the time and its fun because we are all like sisters. I mean we practically spend every day with each other for 2 and a half months. I also remember just hitting around and making up raps about random stuff when I was hitting I came up with
"Running is gay, What what, runnning is gay
Running down the street my feet make a beat, I turn to you and say what the freak, Running is gay
When I run my muscles get sore, then I'm using ICEHOT galore, running is gay
When your outside in the sun your skin gets burnt and crispy, just like a turkey in the oven at 450
Running is gay
When you run you get sweaty, when you sweat you smell, so when you see someone you better walk away fast as hell
Running is gay what what running is gay"
It was the best thing ever because I just came up with it while hitting. No one could hit straight and the balls were flying and by the end of it my team mates were on leaning over laughing so hard at me.

I play varsity, and have since my freshman year, so when I graduate I will have my four year letter, which I am really looking forward to. Last year I went to districts in doubles but this year I switched to singles and unfortunately didn't make it to districts. But there is always next year.

This picture was take at the ATP center in Cincinnati, Ohio.  This is were districts were played. It was so cool because that is where all the pros had played, and i was standing on center court. I saw the ref chair and of course I HAD to sit in it. It made me feel important :).

This was at Centerville High School, where me and Marianne got awards. I ended up taking home an award for an honorable mention in the Miami Valley.

Throw Back- Yester-months

"There are plenty of promises and hope floating around for you"- fortune cookie of the night
HoMeCoMiNg 2010
Get Freaky with it, but stay classy ladies

The search was on for the perfect dress. "No, I need to be original. None of that 'every single girl in the school' has it look. It need to be me, and original." So with much online research I came to the conclusion of my perfect dress. Sequin top, bubble hem, not to short. IT WAS GOLDEN. So, me and my mom went to Dillard's and there it was. Glowing on the rack like a prize to be won. Of course I have about 20 other dresses in my hand but I knew which one I would be skipping away with, and I was right. I make it seem like it was a wedding dress that I was choosing but in my life right now, it really is just that important. And the shoes I found matched perfectly. That's when I knew I had made the right decision. Nothing like the feeling of everything working out perfectly.
The whole group :)
The Bestest friends anyone could have

I love my girls. I don't know where I would be without them. To the left is my best friend in the whole world, Taylor. I don't even remember how we met, but I'm glad we did :). To the right is one of the other Vier's Cheyanne. Me Jordan, Taylor, and Cheyanne are the Viers (4 in German). Nothing can separate me from these girls.

It was FREEZING COLD! It had rained just minutes before. "Huddle together girls, maybe the body heat will keep us warm"
